Veteran Supported thru Angels for Armed Forces Program
You can feel the magic in the air this time of year. Be sure to take time to hug the ones you love and spend time creating happy memories with them. Being able to support those in need during this time of the year provides us with the greatest blessings. One patient in particular is Eric, a Navy Veteran from Maine.
Eric from Eagle Lake, ME first contacted Angel Flight NE in early 2020 – during the height of the pandemic. Our wonderful pilot, John S. flew him safely from Presque Isle, ME to Mass General in Boston, MA for help with a traumatic leg injury. Recently, Eric has had to travel for specialized treatment once again – this time with his beloved service dog, Reba! From the picture above, she is not only beautiful, but also looks like the goodest girl to us!
Eric once again had the opportunity to fly this week with Angel Flight NE Volunteer Pilot, John S. from New Hampshire, who has participated in nearly 100 Angel Flight missions since joining our roster in 1996. Eric is unsure how long he will be in Boston after surgery at Mass General but we assured him we will be here when he is ready to return home.
Through the Angels for Armed Forces program which is supported by such sponsors as BAE Systems and with the generous and compassionate help from people like you, Eric is able to travel (with Reba) for treatment.
As with all of our patients, they are forever a part of the Angel Flight NE family. Mission/Flight requests – like Eric’s – are made daily and we feel blessed to be a part of their journey.
Thank You and God Bless You for your support and belief in our healing mission. With your help and belief in our mission, we are able to ensure that distance is never an obstacle for patients like Eric.
Warmest regards,
Fr. Larry & the AFNE Staff
