Today, we want to introduce you to Matthew, a courageous young boy from Northern Maine who has been traveling with us to receive specialized care at Boston Children’s Hospital. Matthew’s story is one of bravery and perseverance as he battles the challenges of cerebral palsy and tracheomalacia.

Overcoming the Challenges of Distance

For Matthew and his family, accessing life-changing medical care has been a daunting journey. Living in Northern Maine, they faced the overwhelming task of traveling hundreds of miles to Boston to reach the specialists who could provide the care Matthew so desperately needs. The logistical and financial strain of frequent travel added to the burden his family already carried.

Fortunately, Angel Flight NE was able to step in and offer critical assistance. Our volunteer pilots have been flying Matthew and his family to Boston, ensuring that the physical distance is no longer a barrier to his medical care.

Expanding Our Reach with JetBlue’s Inaugural Flights

In a significant development, JetBlue has launched its inaugural flights from Presque Isle, Maine. This new service represents a monumental step in expanding our ability to support patients in remote areas like Northern Maine, including families like Matthew’s. The ease and convenience of JetBlue’s flights will now allow us to assist more patients in rural communities, offering them the same hope and healing that Angel Flight NE provides.
