Maine Veteran Travels on 80+ Angel Flights
We’d like you to take a moment to meet Jonathan, a Veteran from Maine & his wife Angele. When he first contacted us in early July 2021, Jonathan had recently been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer best treated at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York.
Since that first conversation, we’ve supported Jonathan with nearly 80 flights of healing and hope on JetBlue flights and with the help of our amazing AFNE Volunteer Pilots. With support from the Maine Cancer Foundation, we have been able to provide the couple with a comfortable place to stay during Jonathan’s treatment.
Jonathan shared the following earlier this week:
“I’ve used Angel Flight NE to travel for care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC more times than I can count. When I first explored traveling from my home in southern Maine to NYC frequently for care, my first thought was “How?”.
With the help of the Angel Flight NE’s staff, pilots, corporate partners, the generosity of donors, I have been able to access top flight care that would have otherwise been very difficult and expensive to arrange. My family and I are grateful to everyone involved for helping to make access to the specialized medical care I needed possible. We’re very grateful!”
As with all our patients, Jonathan is forever a part of the Angel Flight NE family. Mission/Flight requests – like Jonathan’s – happen daily and we are privileged to be part of our patients’ healthcare journey by not only flying them but deeply care for all who turn to us for help at difficult times in their lives.
Thank You and God Bless You for your support and belief in our healing mission. With your help and belief in our mission, we can ensure that distance is never an obstacle for patients, like Jonathan.
Warmest regards,
Fr. Larry & the AFNE Staff
