Bringing Hope to Gabriella: How Angel Flight NE Helps a Little Girl Access Life-Changing Medical Care

Today, we’re honored to share the journey of a resilient young girl, Gabriella Valcourt, from Lee, Maine. Gabriella, who lives with a neurological disorder, must travel regularly to Boston Children’s Hospital to receive the specialized care essential for her health and well-being. While her family is committed to ensuring she gets the treatment she needs, the journey from northern Maine to Boston is both lengthy and financially demanding.

Since her family reached out to Angel Flight NE, our volunteer pilots have been honored to provide two flights, giving Gabriella and her loved ones the ability to focus on her care, rather than the logistics of travel.

For families like Gabriella’s, each flight represents more than just a journey—it’s a lifeline. Our mission at Angel Flight NE is to help children and adults alike overcome the logistical and financial hurdles of accessing critical care, especially when it’s hundreds of miles away.

The difference that these flights make for Gabriella is profound. Our generous volunteer pilots donate their time and resources to ensure that every mile of her journey to Boston is covered. This invaluable support helps Gabriella’s family stay focused on her health, relieving the additional worry and costs of transportation. As one of our dedicated volunteer pilots recently shared, “Every flight isn’t just a trip; it’s a chance to help a child access life-saving care.”

Gabriella’s story is a powerful reminder of the essential role that Angel Flight NE plays for families across New England who need to reach life-saving care but face barriers due to distance or financial challenges. Our flights provide a bridge to hope and healing for families just like hers.

We invite you to learn more about Gabriella’s journey and the compassionate work of Angel Flight NE in connecting children and adults to the medical care they need. Together, we are making a profound difference—one flight at a time.
