Military Angel Flights

Proudly Serving Those Who Serve Us

Our Angels for Armed Forces® program was established to provide free flights to military personnel and veterans who need to access medical care or for other compelling and humanitarian reasons.

Military Angel Flights are arranged by our mission/flight coordinators every day. We have assisted active military personnel and veterans traveling for medical appointments; support services; relocation and retraining.

These flights are conducted by our volunteer pilots, many of whom are veterans themselves. They not only share a love of flying but are also deeply committed to helping others – especially fellow veterans and their families.

Our organization has worked with Veterans Affairs, social workers, civic groups and the USO to provide service members the support they need and deserve.

When military personnel are faced with a healthcare journey or require other support services, we believe it is everyone’s responsibility to help these brave individuals who have served our country.

Since our founding in 1996, we have coordinated 20,000 Angels for Armed Forces flights for veterans and family members. 

These flights have not only been coordinated so veterans can receive medical treatment and diagnosis, but also for retraining in new professions or attend support camps and retreats.

Supporting those who have served our country and their families is the least we can do to say “Thank You” for their service and sacrifices.

Who Do We Fly?

Military patients and/or family members who are medically stable and traveling to specialized medical care.

We also fly individuals for humanitarian and other compelling reasons.

Where Do We Fly?

Our primary service area covers 9 states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Additionally, we can serve patients nationwide and internationally through our partnership with other air charities and commercial airlines partners.

Volunteer Pilots and Ground Crew

Our ability to provide free air and ground transportation is made possible through our network for compassionate volunteer general aviation pilots and ground crew who donate their vehicles to transport patients and companions to/from airports and medical facilities.

A Flight

Patients Must Be Ambulatory

Patients must be medically stable and able to board and exit a small plane with little to no assistance. Companions can accompany a patient during an Angel Flight.

Patient Documentation

We require that each passenger complete a liability release Our mission/flight coordinators work with patients, their medical teams, social workers, and family members to ensure that each Angel Flight is completed seamlessly.
