Henry’s Journey with Angel Flight NE: A Story of Hope and Healing

At Angel Flight NE, every day brings stories of courage, hope, and the life-changing impact of our mission. Today, we are honored to share the story of Henry, a brave four-year-old boy from Vermont, whose journey beautifully illustrates the power of community and compassion in making a difference.

Last year, Henry’s family received a diagnosis that no parent ever expects—Henry was born with a rare condition, Cleft Lip and Palate, which affects only a few thousand children each year. Faced with the overwhelming challenge of frequent travel to Boston Children’s Hospital for specialized medical care, Henry’s mother, Dana, reached out to Angel Flight NE for help.

Our dedicated Mission/Flight Coordination Team quickly responded, understanding how crucial timely care was for Henry. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing Volunteer Pilots, Earth Angels, and The Alexion Charitable Foundation, Henry was able to access the life-changing treatment he needed without the burden of long-distance travel.

Dana shared with us how much Angel Flight NE has meant to their family:

“Angel Flight NE has helped us manage the numerous appointments that Henry has each year for his medical care. The organization supports our transportation needs, and we are always met with grace on our flights. Without Angel Flight NE, Henry would miss more school and time with his sibling.”

For families like Henry’s, the relief of knowing that their child can receive critical care without worrying about the cost or logistics of travel is invaluable. It allows them to focus on what truly matters—healing, hope, and being together.

Henry’s story is one of many that demonstrate the profound impact Angel Flight NE has on families facing medical challenges. With your support, we continue to provide free air transportation to patients of all ages, ensuring they receive the care they need, no matter where they live.

Every mission we fly is a testament to the power of generosity and kindness. We are deeply grateful to our supporters, who make these flights possible, and we remain committed to our mission of providing healing, hope, and compassionate care to those who need it most.
